How many people do I need for a group?
We ask that you have a minimum of 10 people in your group.
Is there an age requirement?
Students coming to participate can be no younger than 11, as MA is designed for Junior High and High School students. A youth leader or chaperone can bring their young children, however, parents are responsible for their own childcare. If your family is coming for a Mission Adventures trip, then all ages are welcome.

What is included in the travel insurance YWAM provides?
A comprehensive accident and sickness insurance policy with travel assistance benefits is required for the length of your trip. We partner with Dissinger Ins. and they provide us with a great travel insurance plan. Our registrar will take care of ordering this plan for your group before you arrive.

Since 1987, Youth With A Mission has had hundreds of thousands of participants at our locations in Baja California, Mexico. Not one of our participants has experienced an incident of violent crime.
Like in any country, there is violence in Mexico. Most of it is gang related. However, over 100,000 U.S. and Canadian residents live along the coast of Northern Baja, where both our campuses are located.
We work hard to ensure that our trips are as safe as possible, and we appreciate the trust that many groups place in us by joining us to serve in Mexico. We attribute our longstanding safety record to the grace of God.
Our Operational Principles:
Group based- Everything we do, including travel and work, is done in groups. People are never sent alone to do anything here.
Staff participation- Each group has at least one YWAM staff member with them at all times. We have over 100 staff members who help setup and supervise our teams.
Local knowledge- We know the area well and avoid places that aren't safe. We also work together with local pastors and community leaders.
Communication- YWAM staff members have cell phones so we are able to communicate with one another as needed while working.
Hours of operation- Our work primarily takes place during daylight hours. We employ night watchmen at both our campuses.
