Building Hope by Building Lives
Do you feel called to serve God through hands-on outreach missions? At YWAM San Diego/Baja, we answered this call more than 25 years ago when we founded Homes of Hope. We’ve spent the last few decades building homes for needy families while ministering to thousands of God’s children. Now, we want to give you the tools to take control of God’s plan for your life in missions.
Our discipleship training school’s Building Hope DTS is designed to train you on the ins and outs of the Homes of Hope ministry, and how to apply this knowledge to the rest of your life.
As you get to know God on a deeper level, you will discover your purpose to impact communities in a lasting, transforming way.

Lecture Phase: $3,495 USD - Includes all tuition, food & housing. (Partial scholarships available for students from Latin America)
Outreach Phase: $2,500 - $4,500 USD

CAMPUS Phase
Our DTS starts with a three-month Campus Phase where students discover more about God while surrounded by God's beauty in beautiful Baja California, Mexico.
The core of our DTS is our 6 elective offerings, which you can choose from for a unique opportunity to learn more about your specific passions through God.
When you choose the Building Hope DTS, you will learn the teachings behind our hands-on mission activities, while also enacting real change and support by building homes for the poor.
Each week, you’ll be motivated to seek God daily and ask Him how He wants to use you to love others.
Students will live in a close-knit community with one another and encourage one another to grow in their walk with the Lord. There is also time to meet in small groups, and the opportunity to be personally mentored, encouraged, and discipled by our YWAM staff.

Outreach PHASE
Once the Campus Phase is complete, take what you learned in the Build Hope DTS classroom into immediate real-world practice in the Outreach Phase.
During this 8-week mission trip, you’ll travel to a new destination to apply the concepts you learned during the Campus Phase and use your mission talents to communicate God’s love and serve communities untouched by his story.
Our outreach activities will include home building as part of the Homes of Hope program. As you dive deeper into a vibrant relationship with God, you’ll find that your natural sense of service can lead you to powerful opportunities to impact people in every sphere of society and gain a deeper revelation about your identity in Christ.

Cost of Building Hope DTS
The cost of YWAM San Diego/Baja’s Campus Phase is $3,495, which includes tuition, food, housing, and learning materials. We do offer partial scholarships for students from Latin America.
The cost of the Outreach Phase can vary depending on the destination and the airfare, but lodging, food, and transportation for the 2-month trip typically cost between $2,500 - $4,500.

How does hope fit into discipleship?
Jeremiah 29:11 states: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Hope is at the center of our relationship with God. When we’re placed in the toughest spots of life, it can be the first thing to falter. As a trained missions leader, you can help restore hope in the hopeless by giving them a safe, secure home where they can rebuild their lives and put the focus back on God and His plan for them.
